Monash Art Ensemble present 'Comeclose and Sleepnow' - new works by Andrew Ford, Charles MacInnes, Thomas Reiner and Paul Grabowsky. Featuring Gian Salter (voice), Jessica Aszodi (voice) and Tristram Williams (flugelhorn).
Thomas Reiner's new work in this concert, Real, is an arrangement, for large ensemble, of the second movement of his 2015 orchestral work Lacan: Ein Lehrstück. Real features solo parts for Tristram Williams and Jessica Aszodi (for whom the solo parts Lacan: Ein Lehrstück were also written).
Andrew Ford's Comeclose and Sleepnow: six Liverpool love songs (2016) is written for singer and 14 instruments and sets poems by Adrian Henri, Brian Patten and Roger McGough. The soloist in this new work is Gian Slater.
