Event Details

The Monash Art Ensemble, a collaboration between the Sir Zelman Cowen School of Music and the Australian Art Orchestra led by pianist/conductor Paul Grabowsky, is proud to present works by two major figures in 21st Century Music. George Lewis, composer, trombone virtuoso, innovative computer musician, academic, philosopher and writer, is one of the most important voices of his generation. His work dissolves the boundaries separating notation and improvisation. Mary Finsterer is one of Australia’s leading composers and her works have been performed by major orchestras and ensembles in Australia, Europe and North America. Monash Art Ensemble includes students and staff from Monash University, and professional musicians from the Australian Art Orchestra.
