Event Details

Charismatic vocalist Lauren Henderson joins Seraphim Trio to present this lively and interactive introduction to chamber music, featuring selections from a new arrangement for piano trio of Ravel's Mother Goose, by Benjamin Martin, and the premiere of Graeme Koehne and Peter Goldsworthy's Mother Chook's Nursery Book.

Mother Chook lays books instead of eggs. Each book is a kind of nursery rhyme, and each rhyme is a song, telling the story of one of Mother Chook's friends, the other farm animals. Or at least the other animals found on a farm, ranging from the biggest - sheep and cows - to the very smallest - flies and ants.

With witty, memorable lyrics and music, these concerts offer immediate fun for children, and sophisticated fun for grown-ups, all of whom are invited to attend.

FREE ADMISSION

The 11.30 am concert features a special program by young Hamilton string players, led by Helen Ayres.

Commissioned with the generous support of the Thyne Reid Foundation.

Featured non-Australian music: Ravel, arr. Benjamin Martin
