Supersense is proud to present the return of Overground, the legendary day-long 'festival-within-a-festival' of improvised music created by Sophia Brous for the Melbourne International Jazz Festival in 2009. Overground featured over 200 performers and more world premiere collaborations than can fit in one list, including artists such as Tony Conrad, Oren Ambarchi, Charlemagne Palestine, Peter Brotzmann, Han Bennink, Tim Bene, Timothy O'Dwyer, Chris Abrahams and many more.

A survey of Australia's creative music and sound performance community, it madly hurtled across boundaries of jazz, improvisation, contemporary classical, performance art, sound transgression, avante garde, hardcore and noise sensibilities.

"it was possible for listeners to experience a mind-altering array of sonic extremes in a single hour." The Age.

Overground concept originally developed for the Melbourne International Jazz Festival.

^ FULL FESTIVAL PASS includes all Friday Events, All Saturday Day Events + 1 Saturday Evening Headliner, Sunday's Overground + 1 Sunday Evening Headliner.
