Phil Slater is a jazz trumpeter and composer living and working in the Illawarra region. He is the leader of co-leader of several groups including Phil Slater Quartet, Strobe Coma Virgo, The Sun Songbook, and Band of Five Names, and has performed and recorded with a wide range or artists such as Archie Roach, Missy Higgins, Katie Noonan, Vince Jones, Martha Wainwright, Lou Reed, Sandy Evans, Mike Nock, Jonathan Zwartz, Steve Hunter, Baecastuff, AustraLysis and many others.
Slater has been awarded the National Jazz Award, the Freedman Fellowship, The Limelight Award, and the Bell Award for Australian Jazz Musician of the Year, and Best Contemporary Jazz Ensemble.
The quintet will perform a combination of new original compositions and works from their 2019 Aria Award and Australian Music Prize nominated recording The Dark Pattern.
SHOW COMMENCES AT 8:15pm. DOORS OPEN AT 8PM FOR DRINKS AND SEATING. STRICTLY NO ENTRY AFTER 8:30PM.
