This year’s special guests are Magnus Andersson (classical guitar, Sweden) and No Noise Percussion Group. Presenting lecturers and students in New Music Ensemble, this concert includes new works by students, young Malaysian composers and Faculty members Tazul Tajuddin, Ross Carey, Katia Tiutiunnik, Ainolnaim and Adam Masumi. New Music Ensemble is led by Yeoh Pei Ann (lecturer) and conductor Prof. Madya Dr Tazul Tajuddin. ‘Supporting and Nurturing Creativity’ 5th Malaysian Composers Concert Series 2014 @ klpac This concert series is the 5th for UiTM Faculty of Music to promote and nurture new composition works by students and other composers in Malaysia. It is also to nurture student performers to perform composer new works. This will encourage new works by composers and will add and broaden the music cultural scene. It is to reflect the diversity of talent and musical style of Malaysian composers and to provide and open a platform for these new works to be performed. It gives an alternative of other composer’s artistic expression to the usual popular music scene in Malaysia. This is also a unique opportunity to promote contemporary by young students and new composers, as well as established one to our local audience. Creation of new works needs continuity and culture needs these works in order not to become stagnant. This composer concert series will hopefully provide this gap and in the future will establish itself to become platform for new works by students and young Malaysian composers.
