If you’re into jazz you’ve probably heard multi-award winning Australian trumpeter, Eugene Ball, play and you’re likely to have copped one or two of his tunes. This performance will feature songs and pieces from their debut album, Hi(gh) Curious.
In addition to being a sought-after performer, Eugene is a prolific composer, music director and arranger. He was awarded the 2011 APRA/AMCOS ‘Best Australian Jazz Song’ and received a Bell Award in 2008 for the ‘Best Australian Jazz Composition of the Year’. Joining him are James Macaulay, trombone (Largerphones, Aaron Choulai Quintet), Mick Meagher, electric bass (The Putbacks, Black Arm Band), and James McLean (winner of the 2016 Freedman Jazz Fellowship).
