Hailed as a “born communicator” (The Australian), Brisbane-based internationally renowned concert pianist Alex Raineri renders us speechless with his brilliantly curated collection of operatic highlights transcribed for the piano alone, as supreme virtuosity collides with narrative understanding and sheer expressive intensity. Cherished songs of love, loss and lunacy by Mozart, Gounod, Wagner, Richard Strauss, and Raineri’s own reimagining of Dido’s Lament, all transcend the text to inhabit a magically transformative non-verbal stratosphere.
