Duet – Tim Shiel (arr. Ryan Walsh) World Premiere

Featuring electronic artist Tim Shiel and QSO
Arranged and orchestrated by Ryan Walsh
Video and lighting design by Jaymis Loveday

Immerse yourself in the unique and hypnotic sound world of the critically acclaimed Duet, an addictive Australian mobile game of reflexes which balances a minimalist visual aesthetic with a pulsating and lush soundtrack by Melbourne-based electronic musician, Triple J presenter and Gotye collaborator Tim Shiel.

Hear the game's original music given a widescreen makeover with an orchestral palette, as Tim is joined by 16 QSO musicians for a one-off performance that blurs the lines between the electronic and the acoustic.

"Although the game might be great, the soundtrack is spectacular. As contemporary as it is, taking advantage of electronic music's current scope of sounds, it also harkens back to video game soundtracks of the pre-millennium with needling synths, thunderous whooshes of noise, and an eerie atmosphere - it's almost symphonic in how clean and elaborate it sounds. Shiel's soundtrack for Duet comes out sounding as innovative as the game it scores." -- Jake Cleland, The Vine
