In this program members of the Melbourne Composers' League have joined with composers from Tatarstan, an Autonomous Republic within the Russian Federation, to present works for the unusual yet intriguing sounds of the Clarinet trio. Drawing upon three of Victoria’s leading clarinetists, the program will feature expert ensemble playing that will not only explore the sounds of this much loved instrument but that also celebrates the distinct cultures of Australia and Tartarstan. Meet the performers and composers for afternoon tea with proceeds from donations going to the Australian Red Cross.

Australian works TBC.

Featured non-Australian music: Baytiryak Ilgam, Kalimullin Rashid, Luppov Antoly, Nizamov Elmir
