Witness the virtuosic mastery and artistic sensitivity of Canadian violinist Bora Kim in her Australian debut recital. Joined by Australian pianist Samuel Dharma, the performance opens tenderly with Brahms' Violin Sonata no. 2 (one of only two works he marked "amabile" or lovingly) before exploring the various rich characters imbued in works by Ysaÿe, Gershwin and Tchaikovsky. The program will also premiere a dramatic short work by Australian composer Jane Kim (2nd prize, 2018 Just Music, Law Society of NSW and Finalist, 2004 Orpheus Music Composition Competition). Bora Kim will perform on a 1747 Januarius Gagliano, courtesy of the Musical Instrument Bank of the Canada Council for the Arts
