Event Details
The ACT Branch of the Royal School of Church Music holds an annual composition competition. Composers are invited to submit an anthem suitable for a parish choir or an organ piece suitable for use within a church service. This year, the anthem is a setting of text from Psalm 147, and the organ piece is based on the melody of Tallis's Canon. Six finalists have been selected from the choral section, and five from the organ section. Their pieces will be performed at the 'Finalists' Concert' and a winner in each section selected by this year's judge, respected organist and composer Calvin Bowman.
