Event Details
Acclaimed for their masterful music-making, Seraphim Trio plays 'fast and loose' with fairy tales, words and music in the second concert tour celebrating the Trio's 20th anniversary. Exploring the literary connections to music, Anna Goldsworthy (piano), Helen Ayres (violin) and Timothy Nanakervis (cello) perform an enchanting program of fantasy and fairy tales featuring a world premiere of Melbourne composer Benjamin Martins's brilliant arrangement of Ma mere l'oye (Mother Goose) by Ravel, alongside author Peter Goldsworthy's witty meditations on the same children's classic, Playing Fast and Loose with Mother Goose. The escapism continues with Janacek's delightful Fairy Tale and the dramatic Piano Trio No. 3 by Dvorak. Fairy Tales will open in Adelaide on August 3 and will tour to Ballarat, Melbourne and Sydney.
Performers: Anna Goldsworthy, Helen Ayres, Timothy Nankervis, Peter Goldsworthy
Featured non-Australian music: JANACEK Pohadka (Fairy Tale) for cello and piano; DVORAK Piano Trio No.3 in F Minor, Op 65
