Event Details
Project made possible under a 2011 New and Contemporary Classical Music performance Grant awarded to Ursula Caporali from the Sydney Conservatorium of Music. The satirical tragicomedy, Six Characters in Search of an Author was written by Luigi Pirandello and first performed in 1921. The six characters need the help of the director to bring their unfinished story to life. The idea for the concert comes from this play. Similarly the six characters/performers are seeking a new music composer/author. The new composer should be able to introduce and take them to a new dimension of both sound and new technical gestures. The artists are in need of new inspiration and aim to fall in love with new authors. They hope to find a new voice, perhaps a bit alternative, but definitely as strong as the old type of composers they loved so much. The six artists are: a pianist, a harpist, a cellist, a painter, a dancer, an actor and of course the composers. Come along on the night to discover each role and much more.
