Event Details

This is the 9th year of the annual SoundOut festival, and in 2018 we will bring to you the continuation of the incredible explorative sonic arts event. This is the International Free Improvisational, Free Jazz and Experimental Music festival to will uplift tired ears, explore the unknown, see within the fabric of sound, unravel the threads of normative musical praxis, and question sonic hegemonies. With artists from Australia, Austria, Denmark, France, Norway, Sweden and the US that will combine, mix, cross-fertilize, and move sound mountains to inspire inquiring ears.
PROGRAM
SoundOut Improvisation Workshops: 2nd February
10am - 12:30pm with Norwegian drummer Paal Nilssen-Love and Swedish Pianist Sten Sandell
2pm - 5pm with French vocalist/clarinetist Isabelle Duthiot (this will be a vocal workshop)
2pm - 5pm with Austrian trumpter Franz Hautzinger
NOTE: Age limit is 16y ears (year 10) and above (though there is no age limit on just observing the Workshop), and also you need to have some proficency on your chosen instrument . Participants will have the opportunity to perform in the Workshop Set at the SoundOut Festival the next day in the Afternoon session in the Set between 4:20pm - 5pm @the Drill Hall Gallery.
