Event Details
Polar Force is an investigation of extreme wind and ice through an immersive and multi-sensorial performance work. A whited out, enclosed space is created within an inflated structure. Imagine being on the Antarctic ice shelf but housed inside a temporary shelter where you are intimately observing scientific experiments using the raw polar energies collected from outside. A musical language is etched literally out of these raw elements, evoking the beauty and infinite complexity of Antarctica. Unsure whether you’re witnessing a sinister activity, cutting edge scientific research or that you’re part of a dangerous polar expedition, Polar Force makes you rethink your relationship to the natural world. From the perspective of the coldest, windiest and driest continent on earth you also come to terms with human fragility and limitation.
The venue for this event is the Playhouse Rehearsal Space at Arts Centre Melbourne.
