Moving Collected Ambience is a participatory sound work that reads the collection as a relational score. A temporary community of 80+ vocalists drift and coalesce throughout the galleries according to memorized instructions that modulate the sonic and social density of the space. This is the first re-staging of the work, created in 2014 and acquired by the MCA in 2015.
In their work, Super Critical Mass attempt to reach a critical mass with sound and performers – a moment when collective voices combine to create a transformative effect.
