Event Details
Newcastle Youth Orchestra presents a program to delight the symphonic ear in the spectacular Christ Church Cathedral. We invite you to join us for Saint-Saëns Symphony No. 3, the Organ Symphony, featuring talented local musician, Peter Guy, as the Pipe Organ soloist. The concert will also feature works prepared as apart of “The Loft Project”, Newcastle Youth Orchestra’s innovative program for young local composers. Christopher Pantelidis and James Maher have prepared two new works for symphony orchestra, influenced by elements taken from the Organ Symphony. Join us from 6:30pm for a short pre-concert talk with the young composers, to hear all about their new works and their experiences of working with the Newcastle Youth Orchestra.
Featured non-Australian music: Camille Saint-Seans - Organ Symphony, Glinka - Ruslan and Ludmilla "Dance of the Couples"
