Following their highly acclaimed 2012 collaboration, Sydney Chamber Choir and Adelaide Chamber Singers combine once again to present two works for forty voices - Tallis's monumental Spem in alum and Gabriel Jackson's companion piece Sanctum est lumen, described in the Gramophone magazine as an 'astonishing tour de force in which the strands of musical texture cascade with glorious luminosity'.
This program also celebrates the centenary of Benjamin Britten's birth with performances of the sublime Hymn to St Cecilia and selections from Ad majorem Dei gloriam. Music by the exciting young Australian composer Joseph Twist will also feature alongside a new work by Sydney Chamber Choir's musical director and APRA Award-winner Paul Stanhope.
