Event Details
The KPO performs four diverse works at this concert. The opening piece first appeared at the KPO Composer Workshops in 2016 and is now is performed in its final version. Eggshell, by local composer Kezia Yap is presented along with outstanding young cello prodigy Benett Tsai, winner of the KPO’s 2017 Concerto Competition, performing Tchaikovsky’s Variations on a Rococo Theme. The program opens with the impressionistic seascapes of Debussy’s La Mer, and concludes with Prokofiev’s vast choral epic based on the life of Russian hero Alexander Nevsky with acclaimed mezzo soprano, Barbara Jin and the full choral force of the Willoughby Symphony Choir, Abbotsleigh School and Barker College.
