Following on from the tremendous success of The Garden of Ice, performed as part of Melbourne Recital Centre’s Metropolis Music Festival, the ever imaginative Forest Collective will present the follow up piece The Garden at Kew Court House later this month. Art reflects life and one of life’s greatest obsessions is love. In The Garden, Forest Collective explores the development and eventual loss of love between the archetypal couple. Centred around one man, this modern day opera encompasses a wide variety of music by Schumann, Schubert, Mozart, Stephen Sondheim and Coldplay.
Local Canterbury soprano Rosemary Ball will be joined by baritone Michael Lampard and accompanied by a live ensemble formed from some of Melbourne’s most accomplished solo musicians. Performed in the intimate surrounds of Kew Court House, The Garden is an immersive experience featuring tactile elements and visual projection that will resonate with Forest Collective fans and new audiences alike.
