Event Details
Newcastle based contemporary art-music ensemble the Tone Camerata explores installation and multi-disciplinary art, improvisation and fusion in conjunction with more traditional forms of music composition. Among more conventional performance spaces, the collective often performs in art galleries and have created installations which interact with an audience. Tone Camerata have performed at festivals showcasing Australian art-music to new audiences.
Group members include Nikhil Chandran: vocals (baritone), carnatic improvisation. James Maher: composition, piano and mandolin. Sarah Monk: flute, vocals (alto). Victoria Stanmore: violin and vocals (Mezzo soprano). Rebekah Parkes: berimbau, vocals (soprano) and percussion.
