A tideline is the ocean’s signature: an ever-changing, tangled boundary of foam and seaweed, driftwood and debris, calm and turbulence. Zela Papageorgiou’s Tidelines shares her personal devotion to the artistic practice of percussion in an hour-long, intimate and immersive listening experience. This debut concert presents a program of original compositions shaped by her encounters with nature and moments of solitude—drawing from Zela’s time spent in regional Australia and rural Japan. Both a personal reflection and a shared ritual, this performance offers a journey through memory and place. Tidelines invites listeners to drift through shifting textures of rhythmic and hypnotic percussion that flow and converge with ambient sound worlds. This performance is presented by Speak Percussion in partnership with Next Wave.
