Percussionist Claire Edwardes is one of Australia’s most charismatic performers. She is the winner of several international competitions, including the Tromp Percussion Competition (2000) and Llangollen International Instrumentalist (2001), and has performed concertos with all the major Australian orchestras.
Claire’s informal style of presentation invites the audience into the often unfamiliar world of percussion. This special program evokes the awakenings of Spring and first love, in transcriptions and new music for marimba, timpani, kalimba, temple bowls and drums.
Featured non-Australian music: Bach, Korea, Piazzolla, Rzewski, Norgard, Kitazume, Maslanska
