Slava Grigoryan, Wolfgang Muthspiel and Ralph Towner are three of the world's finest guitarists in their own fields. For one night only they will perform music from their stunning album Travel Guide (ECM) in the dramatic acoustic surrounds of the City Recital Hall. Slava Grigoryan was described by The New York Times as ‘a guitar player of uncommon originality and authority.’ A double ARIA Award winner, he is recognised as the pre-eminent Australian classical guitarist of his generation. Wolfgang Muthspiel is one of Austria’s most internationally acclaimed jazz guitarists and has been a significant figure on the transatlantic jazz scene for two decades. And the legendary Ralph Towner is a celebrated acoustic guitarist and innovator on the modern musical landscape with a career spanning more than 30 years. On November 1st the trio will play the classical, baritone, 12-string and electric guitars in a unique presentation of guitar mastery not to be missed.
