Event Details

Superb music, combined with the magnificent scenery of the Wollumbin caldera in the Tweed Valley, Northern New South Wales, makes the annual Tyalgum Festival of Classical Music a unique and exhilarating experience! The Tyalgum Festival of Classical Music began in 1991 after concert violinists Carmel Kaine and John Willison fell under the acoustic spell of the Tyalgum Literary Institute. Since then numerous artists have ranked the 1908 hall alongside some of the best concert venues in the world. Winner of the 2012 Sydney International Piano Competition of Australia, Canadian pianist Avan Yu will perform the opening concert of this year’s 21st anniversary Tyalgum Festival. The three day program includes some of Australia’s finest classical musicians and emerging stars, plus a fringe program of street theatre, nature walks, art exhibitions and more. Ticket prices from $25 to $50 depending on the concert. Refer to the program schedule or booking form for detailed pricing.

Featured non-Australian music: Bach, Rachmaninov, Bartok, Debussy, Romberg, Popper, Martinu, Morricone, Tchaikovsky, Gardel, Piazzolla
