Event Details

That's right! What Is Music?, in collaboration with TURA, will take on the mean streets of Perth to spread the barrage of experimental music all the way across this great brown land. Accordingly, in an attempt to make the entire continent reverberate with his digital racket, John Wiese will perform a more intimate gig in Perth's Ellington Jazz Club on the 15th of December. You could take any description of harsh, brutal, challenging music and insert Wiese's name, and still not quite fully convey the sonic assault that audiences are in for. Joining him from the east coast of Australia will be the purveyor of challenging solo percussion ordnance and all-round-challenging-guy Robbie Avenaim, presenting his new work for 4 (!) bass drums and automated mechanical pedals, fresh from laying waste to Europe with Oren Ambarchi. Rounding out the incredible lineup for this night will be renowned local sound artist Alan Lamb, known worldwide for his recordings of the massive wire fences that divide up the vast tracts of land in central Australia.
