Event Details
Melbourne’s own Flinders Quartet is instantly recognisable as one of Australia’s most loved chamber music ensembles giving dynamic performances of a full spectrum of repertoire with the Quartet’s gripping interpretations of the string quartet masterpieces described as having an ‘intense clarity’.
Mozart’s genius of his much-loved string quartet K.464 gives way to an arrangement of Mendelssohn Songs by Flinders Quartet emerging composer, John Rotar which in turn sets the scene for his energising V Vecernih, a short work that brought the house down at the Quartet’s inaugural composer workshop concert in 2016. Beethoven’s Op.135 never fails to astound audiences with its profundity and timeless relevance.
