It is widely acknowledged that there is gender inequality in the music industry, not just amongst musicians and performers, but in the broader industry as well. Much conversation in the last few years has been about identifying the issues – but what are the next steps for tack;ing these issues head-on? What specific solutions can the industry identify for ensuring women are represented on the airwaves, on stages, at festivals, in the studio and in the boardroom?

MusicNSW is convening an industry roundtable focusing on women in the electronic music industry and the development of practical, achievable, strategic next steps for improving the gender balance within electronic music. Featuring industry professionals from talent development, programming, industry development and the media, the aim of the roundtable is to develop a strategic framework for addressing issues with the hope of applying it to other areas of the music industry.

Speakers include: Anna Burns (Future Classic), Anna Fitzgerald (Ministry Of Sound), Jane Slingo (Electronic Music Conference), Caroline Gates (Fbi Radio), Banoffee (aka Martha Brown) and Cat Hope.

Roundtable participants will be invited by MusicNSW and EMC, however additional tickets are available for those keen to observe or participate in discussions.
