Don’t miss the heroics from the orchestra in the Eroica Symphony and from trumpeter, Geoffrey Payne playing Haydn's trumpet concerto is our second program to feature brass this year. Prepare to be blown away again! – twice! We are repeating this concert on the Sunday afternoon to give more people the opportunity of witnessing this fabulous program. What can one say about the Mozart’s Wind Serenade K.375, except that it is truly a masterpiece. Haydn wrote this concerto for his trumpeter friend, Anton Weidinger, who had just invented the keyed trumpet so that he could play chromatically right across the entire range of the trumpet, which Haydn fully exploited in this ever-popular work.
Mark Shiell will present a pre-concert talk in the auditorium commencing 30 minutes prior to each performance.
