Performance by Hobart City Band, Simon Reade from the CD Tasmania
Product details
This work is drawn from my Second Symphony of 2000. The orginal work ran for approximately 10 minutes and was scored for orchestra in three movements. In 2013 I revised the Symphony, making use of two works that had been written since the original version of the Symphony and that were based on the music contained within. The Symphony is now a two movement work, scored for strings and tuned percussion and running for approximately 15 minutes. In making this new version of the first movement, I have used both the revised Symphony as well as the transcribed and adapted version of the first movement (also titled Adagio) for wind band, completed in 2001.
