Product details

After the Rain, 2009, is a response to the Hill End Residency video installation artist Noelene Lucas undertook in May 2009 in the midst of the drought. The work developed from the specifics of time, place and weather at Hill End. After the Rain was filmed early one morning, Thursday May 28, 2009, the day after the one day it rained that month.

It was shown at the Bathurst Regional Gallery in January 2011 and is part of the permanent collection.

The sound track was written for four pianos and through a minimalist style aims to capture the minimalist yet ever changing mood of the film. The sound is realized through Finale midi and mastered by Michael Macken.

The piece doesn't end at ms. 75 as it's circular. In the 2016 'Multiple Keyboards' project concert, the players played through twice, returned to the beginning and gradually dropped out before finishing at ms. 23 (abruptly). Players are to find an ending which suits the mood, time available and venue.
