Product details

This motet, the second setting of this text by the composer, was written as a two-part choral work with organ accompaniment for a parish-type choir. It is also available in an SATB arrangement. The two-part setting was written for the Parish Choir (one of several choirs in residence there) at the Church of St John the Evangelist in Gordon, Sydney. It was written for the occasion of "Back to St John's Day" celebrated on Pentecost 2009. The work is prayerful in nature and embodies something of the mystical nature of the Eucharist, making it particularly appropriate as a Communion motet. The text is very suitable in this context too, of course, and has inspired composers for generations.
