his resource is to assist educators in accessing, understanding and teaching Australian film music to students in the classroom environment. The resource is for primarily secondary school students and can be incorporated in classroom programs at the senior level, Years 7-12. The content of this resource includes an introduction to the game music with a discussion on game music construct. This is followed by an overview of the four composers of which two have included scores. The music by Clark Aboud and Biddy Connor includes screen casts of the games with music and access to midi files that include thematic material from the game score. These works are followed by notated scores by Cameron Lam and Jessica Wells who have written art music compositions that combine game music inspired backing tracks with instruments. Each example includes a discussion of these composers and their works with detailed listening guides. Towards the end of the kit are teaching prompts/ideas to assist with the presentation and study of these works in the classroom. These prompts or tasks have been divided into Listening/Musicology, Performance and Composition.
