Poet and performer Merlinda Bobis grew up at the foot of a volcano in the Philippines. Using natural sounds, poetry, songs and incantation, she moves back through memories of childhood tales, through the history of her people. This is radio version of a performance work.
The programme also includes 3 pieces by musicians from a hill tribe from the southern highlands of Mindanao, recorded in performance at the 1995 Brisbane Biennial.
