Product details
Strong contrasts and many opportunities for exhibitionistic playing, both solo and collectively, are features of this piece. Two further salient characteristics are first, quasi ostinato passages which either stand alone or occupy the background and second, the recurrence of earlier ideas in a different context or role.
In addition, a feature of the composer's style is to insert and add new material. The descending gesture which gave the work its title was one such insertion, being an interruption within another several-layered isorhythm-based section.
