Product details
It's not just a world premiere performance, but also the first
time an opera has ever been commercially presented with a digital
orchestra.
This is the first serious operatic treatment of Bram Stoker's
original story: Dracula is a perfect subject for opera with the
popular ingredients of sex, violence and religion. David
Stanhope's marvellous work is lyrical and listenable, utilising a
large orchestra with stunning effects and gorgeous harmonies. The
cast includes Australia's finest opera singers.
Three Poems by Gwen Harwood (originally written for renowned
soprano Jennifer McGregor) is beautifully sung by Lorina Gore and
is released in time to celebrate Australian poet Gwen Harwood's
centenary in 2020.
String Songs is an orchestral Folksong Suite dedicated to memory
of Percy Grainger.
Duration: 132 min.
