This music resource kit explores the music of leading Australian composer Elena Kats-Chernin. Stephen Lalor looks at Russian Rag, Variations in a Serious Black Dress and the title work, Clocks. The kit is aimed at senior secondary schools and teritary institutions, and fits syllabus requirements for the study of recent Australian music - all pieces were written post-1985. The units contain questions in the areas of aural study, musicology, performance, composition and arranging. This kit assumes a background in music literacy including an understanding of music notation, intervals, chords, keys, rhythm patterns, and elementary knowledge of orchestral and other instruments.
Contents note: Teacher's booklet (including teaching activities and notes) -- Scores: 'Russian rag : for 8 instruments' ; 'Clocks' ; 'Variations on a serious black dress'.

The ABC Classics CD, referred to in this kit, is now out of print and can no longer be provided by the AMC.
