Sheet Music: ScoreDanza Hellenica / Loreta Fin.by Loreta Fin (2004)

Product details
Dedicated to my Greek friend and string teaching colleague, Theo Kotzas, this piece was written to enable students to understand the feel of 6/8 and 3/4 being used in alternate bars. Like all folk music used for dance, the beat is extremely important, and must be "felt in the music" rather than "read off the page". In the 6/8 bars, the accent will shift from the down bow to the up bow, and in the 3/4 bars, the first beat must be felt strongly. I hope your students will enjoy playing this piece as much as I enjoyed writing it. The piano parts are optional, as the pieces can be played by string ensemble alone. They can also be played as violin 1,2 and cello. Bass parts can also be played by the cello.
