Sheet Music: ScoreFive mise-en-scènes for piano. Book 1 / Richard Vella.by Richard Vella (2019)
|
Product details
These five solos (Mise-en-scenes #1 to #5)
constitute Book 1. They are piano arrangements of previously
commissioned works for film, stage or concert music.
Each of these solos can be perfomed separately. A mise-en-scène
is a term used in film and theatre. It refers to a visual image
of a situation in which all the elements in the image combine to
communicate a dramatic moment. The five solos are either exact
transcriptions from the original scores or arrangements to
express the essence of the original scenes from the film or
theatre productions. Hence the use of the term mise-en-scène as
these solos capture the musical drama of each of the original
scenes. Musically, the solos explore asymmetrical phrasing and
meters combined with seven note modal (# 1 to #4) or eight note
scalar (#5) harmonies.
