Sheet Music: Performance Parts
Flame tree / Louise Denson.
by Louise Denson (2009)
Flame Tree is a moody composition in a cha cha cha rhythm. It employs modal jazz harmony under a melody which gradually unfolds. The vocalist sings a wordless vocalese in counterpoint or harmony with the trumpet and saxophone. It is an hommage to the flame trees which, leafless, bloom in the winter in spite of the cold.
