Summary: 'Shades': A work of collective autonomy for five improvising musicians composed by Phil Treloar with poetry by e.e. cummings and Paul Celan. Treloar was a long-time collaborator with Roger Frampton, who died in 2000. This work was presented in November 2002 at The Studio at Sydney Opera House. Performers: David Ades (alto saxophone), John Clare (reciter), Carl Dewhurst (guitar), Steve Elphick (contrabass) and Phil Treloar (percussion). Produced by Andrew McLennan.
