Glitchmas is a series of graphic scores transcribed for SATB choir. Three common Christmas hymns were photocopied from an antique hymnbook, and fed to glitchy computer software for vibrant and dynamic visual results.
The work investigates how material artefacts and cultural heritage are transformed in the age of digital media. Scores are no longer archived in dusty libraries, but are alive in emergent clouds of data. Today, we are digitally distributed, digitally composed. What does is mean, then, to sing together from these immaterial manuscripts?
