This work is a suite in five parts. These are 'Imagine Meeting You Here - Imagine,' 'Imagine Meeting You Here - Meeting,' 'Imagine Meeting You Here - You,' 'Imagine Meeting You Here - Here,' 'Imagine Meeting You Here - Postscript.' The suite is composed for an 'improvising orchestra' of musicians who are able to read music, but are also experienced in solo, and group improvisation. 'Imagine Meeting You Here' is deliberately constructed to juxtapose and intermingle interactions between the composed elements of the score and the idiosyncratic and contingent musical improvised music expressions of the orchestra members: an investigation of the continuum between contingency, composition, and improvisation.
