In Between Sets is a short piece for solo piano based on some of my improvisations on a jazz line found in Róisín Murphy's song 'Exploitation.' With this piece, I tried to imagine a piano player with a few minutes to kill in between a couple sets at a jazz bar. To pass the time, they start noodling with this little fragment, try out some other licks and lines, before really finding their groove.
