Product details
Irish Fantasy (2023) came about because I wanted to write a piece inspired by Irish music which I have always loved.
The 1st section Andante is my arrangement of "The Twisting of the Rope" a traditional song which I first heard in the movie Brooklyn in 2015.
The 2/4 section is based on a reel: "The pleasures of home" with an added variation.
The 9/16 section is original; it is a slip gig. I chose to write a slip gig because compound triple is my favorite time signature. I think of it as swirling and hypnotic.
