This piece is a chamber symphony for Sinfonietta. The work is a series of reflections on four etchings of Salvador Dali, taken from the 1932 surrealist manifesto, "Les Chants du Maldoror" (the Songs of Maldoror). The piece explores extremes of dynamic and range in all instrumental lines and is suitable for an advanced or professional ensemble.
