Product details
Malam Putih for two violas and togunggak, derives its melodic material from my viola solo, White Night, which was born out of a spiritual experience I underwent on one of the Saint-Petersburg's "white nights", during a concert trip to that immortal Russian city, in June 2006. In Malam Putih, each violist plays a version of White Night, in stretto imitation, half a measure apart, creating a phased effect which is intended to be evocative of the dream state.
