Product details

Duration: 64 min.

Summary: 'Soundprint epsilon': Ancient language, interviews, translations experiences leave their imprint in Soundprints, a collection of memories, stories and ideas.

Non-commercial recording. For study purposes only.

Acoustic artwork broadcast on ABC Radio National's Sunday Night program, 17 October 2004. CD also includes a reading of the short story of the week.

Summary: 'Malta postcard': An old book of sepia photographs, given to Paul Capsis when he was a child, awakened fantasies of a place that his grandparents often spoke of - their native Malta.

Summary: 'Marianthi': Molivos, a Greek village on the island of Lesbos, is the setting for a story by Nasos Theophilou, who lived half the year in a cottage left to him by his grandmother, and the rest of the time in Athens. The eminent writer died, unexpectedly, in July 2004. In the story, Nasos wanders out of the olive groves into the kafeneon and down to the sea, telling on his way the story of his grandmother's death, the village, Greece, himself. Recordings made in Molivos by Tony Barrell 1998, with music from the island. Produced by Tony Barrell.
