Digital Sheet Music [PDF]: Score
Mirrabooka Mornings : for string quartet or string orchestra [eScore] / Eve Duncan.
by Eve Duncan (1990)
Available for immediate download
Mirrabooka Mornings was composed as a dance for children. In my imagination, in opening section the children are all dancing together outside and enjoying themselves. Then they lose concentration, and drift off, distracted by the nature around them. Once again, they begin to play together, and the dance resumes!
Mirrabooka means 'under the Southern Cross' in Australian Aboriginal language.

This is a great work for school string groups. It introduces them to some simple syncopation with helpful repeated material. It suits school festivals
